Adopt Love Adopt Local mega-adoption animal fair

“Adopt Love Adopt Local hosts Southern Arizona’s one-day mega-adoption fair to help match hundreds of pets with their forever homes.

Adopt Love Adopt Local, an initiative of the Pima Alliance for Animal Welfare (PAAW),  is hosting its third mega-adoption animal fair at the West Hall of the Tucson Expo Center on Saturday, April 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Last year, more than 2,000 open-hearted people attended the event, ensuring 151 animals found their forever homes. Grateful pets included 83 dogs, 42 puppies, 12 cats, and 14 kittens.

“In our community, thousands of animals find themselves in need of a loving family every year. By creating a family-friendly opportunity for Southern Arizonans to connect with local organizations, we will give these animals a second chance at finding love and happiness, while celebrating the human-animal bond,”  said Sandra Nathan, Vice President of Community Investment at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.

The mega-adoption will include hundreds of pets of all shapes, colors, sizes, breeds, ages and backgrounds as well as entertainment and demonstrations by Arizona Border Collie Rescue, and the K-9 units from Oro Valley Police Department, Arizona Department of Corrections, and Pima County Sheriff’s Department.”

Date: Saturday, April 15

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: West Hall of the Tucson Expo Center, 3750 E. Irvington Rd.

Cost: FREE and OPEN to the public

  1. For those in the Phoenix area who can’t travel down to Tucson, we’re fostering an awesome 10-year old puggle who’s looking for a new home.

    • Nice to you to adopt 3 dogs, Tom. Hopefully lots of other people will feel like you on Saturday (aka Tax Day).

      • Very true, I used to walk my now daughter-in-law’s dog Buddy, and he was lots of fun. Her love for dogs (and other animals) led to her current job as a pet sitter. Buddy was also a rescued dog.

    • thanks Steve. We don’t own any pets, but I have lots of pet lover friends (who own mostly dogs) and a daughter in law who pet sits. Had lots of pets as a child in rural Hawaii — dogs, cats, a duck, canaries, guinea pigs, turtles, fish, etc. And our son had rabbits, guinea pigs, a shared dog, 2 cats, 3 Jackson chameleons, fish, and a chick.
