Could it be… SATAN!

Normally I could care less about celebrity scandals, especially faux celebrities overstaying their 15 minutes of fame. But Miss California, Carrie Prejean, is a gift that just keeps on giving. There was Miss California being questioned by judge Perez Hilton about gay marriage at the Miss America Pageant. Here is the transcript of the exchange:

PEREZ: Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?

CARRIE: I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and my family I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anyone out there but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be between a man and a woman.

"Opposite marriage?" "My country" of California? The happiest person in America at that moment must have been Miss South Carolina, Caitlin Upton, the Miss Teen USA Pageant contestant whose rambling nonsequitor answer became an instant YouTube video classic. "The monkey's off my back! He's all yours biotch!"

Carrie Prejean has shown herself to be skilled at self promotion and making use of her 15 minutes of fame. She has tried to cash in on her celebrity by becoming the darling of the political right.

Prejean was a guest Monday and Tuesday on Dr. James Dobson's "Focus on the Family," as TMZ revealed just how badly she lied about the topless photos she took. She took not only more than one (obviously), which she lied about, but she took them this year, not when she was 17. Carrie Prejean

An exchange with Dobson:

Dobson: Why did you give the answer you did with regard to the affirmation of marriage?

Prejean: . . . I felt as though Satan was trying to tempt me in asking me this question. And then God was in my head and in my heart saying, "Do not compromise this. You need to stand up for me and you need to share with all these people . . . you need to witness to them and you need to show that you're not willing to compromise that for this title of Miss USA."

And I knew right here that it wasn't about winning. It was about being true to my convictions.

So Prejean's answer was due to the temptation of, oh I don't know, could it be… SATAN!Blank
