Carolyn’s note: Current State Senator Olivia Cajero Bedford in LD 3 has been term limited, and will be seeking a House seat in LD3 in 2018. So a Democratic primary is upcoming with current 4 term LD 3 House Rep. Sally Gonzales seeking this Senate seat as well.

About 50 people at this Pachanga, with MC Richard Elias (District 5 Pima County Supervisor) introducing guests: LD 3 Senator Olivia Cajero-Bedford, CD 2 candidate Mary Matiella, former State Senator Jaime Guitierrez, former Supervisor Dan Eckstrom, former PD Isabel Garcia, LD 3 House candidate Andres Cano, and Ramona Grijalva, wife of the Congressman Raul. Richard said that Betty has a “dogged approach” in her advocacy, then Betty spoke about growing up in Menlo Park, believes that she can make a difference in helping the community. Her top 3 priorities are 1) housing 2) health (as a cancer survivor) and 3) humanity. She worked in financial banking prior to the Pima County Housing Center. Her four children, six grandchildren present too. She is a Clean Elections candidate.
