Tuesday, March 10, 5:30 p.m.: Former U.S. Senator Mark Udall will deliver the 2015 Marks Lecture, entitled “It’s 2015: Why Are We Still Debating Torture?” Sen. Udall, who served on the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, led the bipartisan effort to rein in the NSA’s dragnet collection of Americans’ personal data. He also has been an unwavering advocate for strong, independent oversight of the CIA. He was one of the leading advocates for releasing the Senate Intelligence Committee’s study of the CIA’s detention and interrogation program. The event will be held at the UA College of Law, Room 164 (Ares Auditorium), and it is open to the public, with no cost to attend. A reception will follow the lecture.
