“AN EVENING DEDICATED TO VIOLENCE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION!
The event features headliner Jason Love. One of today’s best clean comedians, Jason Love has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, America’s Got Talent and over 20 national broadcasts. Jason engages the audience and plays music, making him a favorite for companies like Google, Chevron, Farmers, and Costco. Says L.A. Weekly: “Jason Love is comedy that brings people together.”

To round out the talent, there will be emcee , David Fitzsimmons, who will elicit “Fitz” of laughter. Feature comedy act  is Henry Barajas is a favorite of Tucsonans who now resides in Los Angeles ; Nancy Stanley, creator of The Estrogen Hour; Elliot Glicksman, attorney and comedian; Linda Ray, writer and comedian; Suzie Sexton, who will make you laugh ‘til it hurts. There will also be a dance performance by senior dance revue The Rodeo City Wreckettes, Hip Hop, and even a juggler. This show will be hilarious, and it’s all for a wonderful cause—to make our community a safer place while at the same time the audience is entertained by a first class show.

Comedy for Charity was the brainchild of Suzie Sexton, who wanted to do something that would make a difference in the arena of preventing violence. The charity is dedicated to preventing others from suffering the pain and agony of being victims of violence. “Violence is like a disease that needs to be cured. I’m doing what I can to end it,” says Sexton. In the spirit of Florence Foster Jenkins, she is donating 200 tickets to veterans in need for them to be able to attend the show.

Suzie Sexton is a comedian, writer and producer. Her sister was murdered in an unsolved mugging in Chicago in 1980. Since then, she has worked and volunteered in various capacities to reduce violence. Her fundraisers have raised money and awareness for over a dozen charities. Love, laughter and kindness; it’s a win-win-win combination and more fulfilling than just writing a check.

The gala will donate proceeds to Ben’s Bells, a local nonprofit that promotes kindness. It is a worldwide phenomenon and its ubiquitous bells spread kindness like confetti. The other beneficiaries will be the Send a Kid to Camp Fund/Arizona Daily Star Sportsmen’s Fund, and the YWCA. VIP tickets are $50 (VIP includes special seating, a reception beginning at 5:00pm with appetizers and a meet and greet with the comedians before the show) and regular tickets are only $25.”
