It’s important we come together and stand up to demand that our elected officials take action.
For immigrant youth, DACA means safety, it means being able to earn a paycheck to buy medicine for your mom, it means peace of mind, it means opportunity.
In a sea of bad news, DACA is a shining light of good news and we have an opportunity to save it. In fact, immigrant youth and families won DACA by taking action and now we must take action to save it.
Ending DACA and a program called Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for over 300,000 immigrants from Africa, Haiti, central America and other countries means the lives of over a million immigrants are in danger.
Nearly 11,000 young immigrants have already lost their protections, and 122 more lose their status every day. That means every 24 hours more than 100 young people are losing their ability to go to school, to work, to drive a car, to contribute to their families, communities and our economy. The only way to stop this injustice is to provide a permanent legislative solution: the DREAM Act.
The clock is ticking and it is time for us to take a stand!
We will friendly community folks and ask them to Call our Senators to ask them once again to solve this issues for the sake of families and communities.
OFA’s motto is Respect, Empower, Include, Organize. We lead with respect as a core value, and ask that all organizing work is done so with that value in mind. When participating in events like this one, you are committing to do so respectfully.”
