  1. Dropped by for the last hour of today’s open house at newly remodeled TMA — the gift shop is gone, replaced with gallery space of this Dress Matters show with unusual clothing & textiles on display. The Desert Matters exhibit nearby features a lovely video film by Iraqi Sama Alsaibi entitled “Wasl” meaning union –about water, desert, wind, double images. Downstairs are new exhibits with a rare glimpse into TMA’s Asian collection of exquisite Japanese netsuke and Chinese jade. Check it out, free again tomorrow, 10 to 5 p.m.
