Well, it’s Christmas Day 2017, and another year is ending in the new Millennium on Earth. Good health has been on my mind, as I fell twice this year by accident (of course), hurting my lower back and later scraping my right knee, with several bruises on my legs. Fortunately nothing was permanent or broken. I’m on the mend and in relatively good health, so that’s something to celebrate. And my family is here this year in Tucson, in Southern Arizona.
It’s time to wish our Blog for Arizona readers Happy Holidays and cheer for the New Year (of the Dog, for us Asians according to our zodiac). It’s been a tough year of the Rooster with the new Republican President and administration in power in D.C. and lots of Resistance efforts ever since Jan. 20, 2017. Just take a look at our Blog for Arizona Calendar if you’re wondering what I do with my free time as an unpaid, part-time blogger. My goal is to help spread the news about progressive events in Southern Arizona (as far south as Nogales), and often up north (Phoenix and Flagstaff).

Thanks for the Christmas in the Trenches video/song, Wileybud. It’s a good Christmas message for peace. I hadn’t seen it before. My father-in-law in Germany was on one side of WWII, and my Uncle and cousin-in-law were both in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, on the other side.
That’s interesting! When I worked as a six month temp at IBM in the mid-80s there was a guy there who was a Luftwaffe anti-aircraft gunner in Ploesti. And yes, he was there for Operation Tidal Wave.

Thanks Larry — yes, my husband is Native German, so I hear Frohe Weinachten often. It was eye-opening to fall twice this year — makes you realize how important stability in your feet/legs is, and also how scary it is to hurt your back. See you in the New Year at political events.
