AN ACT OF GOD

By DAVID JAVERBAUM

“After conquering Broadway, God has come to Arizona for the first time! You won’t want to miss the sinfully funny and critically acclaimed new play where God and Her devoted angels answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued mankind since Creation. She’s finally arrived to set the record straight … and boy is She not holding back!

Written by 13-time Emmy Award winner David Javerbaum (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart), this sweetly outrageous and gently irreverent new comedy is sure to be a heavenly highlight of the season.”  Starring as the Supreme Being– Paige Davis, of “Trading Spaces” and Broadway’s “Chicago”.

Performing at Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott Avenue, Tucson

October 22 to November 11, 2016

Is God a woman? Absolutely– in this hilarious play with a white woman God, white Archangel Gabriel and black angel Michael, who dialogue with her about her own, unique 10 Commandments. She starts off talking about her 7 days of creation of earth, man etc. telling us that at first it was Adam and Steve (who transgendered into Eve later). Gabriel asked audience members for questions of God, who is very candid in her answers including telling audience member Fred that she “would see him soon”. God said that although she was omnipresent, she didn’t want to hear all our prayers and had no capacity to answer them all. As for the audience questions about why all the suffering, injustice etc. she jokingly says “No Holocaust, no Cabaret (play)”. She didn’t answer the question “Why do bad things happen to good people” (or did she?). Angel Michael even asks her “Why is Donald Trump allowed to roam the earth?” – to audience laughter & clapping. So God does have a plan for us — see this play and find out, via the 10th Commandment. Warning: some sexually explicit language, so not really a play for children.
