Tucson State of the City Luncheon

Tucson Festival of Books

Saturday, March 10 – Sunday March 11, 9:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m.: Tucson Festival of Books at the University of Arizona Mall. The Tucson Festival of Books is a community-wide celebration of literature. Offered free-of-charge, the Festival exists to improve literacy rates among children and adults. All proceeds following the Festival support critical local literacy programs. The first Festival was in 2009. 2018 is the Festival’s 10th anniversary. Attendance has grown from 75,000 to over 100,000 including authors and visitors from all over the U.S. and overseas. Meet at Pueblo High School, march east on 44th St., south on South 6th Ave. to Rudy Garcia Park (formerly Rodeo Park). Student Art Contest with four age categories: K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and High School. Winner will be announced at the March & Rally. The contest will run from February 12th through March 9th. This year we are encouraging marches to join us with banners which represents your organization, social group or school whom you will be marching with. We want to see your art, vision and inspiration represented at the march honoring Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and the farmworkers movement. We will also announce the winners of our Arte Contest. We can’t wait to see what our students come up with!

She is President Elect of the Society of Family Planning and is the Medical Advisory Committee Chair for the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.
