At the three day Oktoberfest, you will find a carnival, dachshund runs (Sunday) and a 5 Mile / 5K / 1 mile race (Saturday) in addition to German food, beer & wine gardens and live music. 15 German beers and three stages of live music! Kinderfest with craft zone and carnival amusements for kids. Six hours of polka music on Sunday. Eight 4 oz. samples of German beer will also be served from noon – 6 for just $20. Admission is free. DCSRA’s Annual Dinner and Auction ‘Believe in Blue’

Thursday, November 5, 5:00 p.m.: The Democratic Club of the Santa Rita Area hosts its annual dinner and auction, “Believe in the Blue,” in the ballroom of the Madera Clubhouse in Quail Creek. Enjoy a gala evening with a wide assortment of live and silent auction offerings. Our very special auctioneer is David Fitzsimmons, the noted cartoonist, humor columnist, and blogger for the Arizona Daily Star. It should be an enjoyable evening! A cash bar and hors d’oeuvres will be available. Monday, February 22, Midnight:  Voter Registration Deadline for Presidential Preference (Primary) Election. Participation in Arizona’s delegate selection process is open to all voters who wish to participate as Democrats. Democratic voters are determined as all those registered on the voter checklist as Democrats or those registered on the voter checklist as Democrats with the Arizona Secretary of State by midnight on Monday, February 22, 2016. (Independent or No Party Preference registered voters cannot participate in the Democratic Presidential Preference (Primary) Election).

Friday, March 18: District-level Delegate filing deadline. An individual can qualify as a candidate for district-level delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention by filing a statement of candidacy designating his or her singular presidential (or uncommitted) preference and a signed pledge of support for the presidential candidate (including uncommitted status) with the Arizona Democratic Party at 2910 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85012 by March 18, 2016 by 5:00 p.m. A delegate candidate may modify his or her singular presidential preference by submitting an updated pledge of support no later than the filing deadline.

Tuesday, March 22: Presidential Preference (Primary) Election.

Friday, April 1: Each presidential candidate, or that candidate’s authorized representative(s), must file with the Arizona Democratic Party Chair by April 1, 2016 by 5:00 p.m., a list of all such candidates he or she has approved.

Saturday, April 26, 8:00 a.m.: Arizona Democratic Party Caucus for delegate selection to the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Arizona is allocated 43 district-level delegates. Arizona has chosen to allocate all of its alternatives at the at-large level. District-level delegates shall be elected at a congressional district level caucus on April 16, 2016, following the Presidential Preference Election. Only elected and appointed precinct committeepersons in your congressional district who support your presidential preference (candidate) will be allowed to vote. All precinct committeepersons that wish to participate and district delegate candidates who filed their nomination form must register their attendance during the registration period of 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. A roster of precinct committee persons shall be available for inspection during the entire caucusing period.
