In the aforementioned Arizona Daily Star report, S. AZ politicians relatively untouched by bowl scandal, Sen. "Don't make me angry" Frank Antenori is quoted regarding his take on the Fiesta Bowl Scandal:
Republican Sen. Frank Antenori said he didn't go on any of the junkets, which he said seem to fall more in the category of "politically stupid" than blatantly illegal, although he said they should have been disclosed. But he's not likely to agitate for a wholesale ban on all expenditures.
"We make $24,000 a year for this, so the little stuff – a free dinner here or an ASU/UA rivalry game – there really isn't a big deal with that. We're not talking about a lot of money."
In other words, Frank sees nothing wrong with taking the "little stuff," the free food and lodging and travel expenses paid for by lobbyists – it's an expected perk that comes with the job of legislator. Party on! Oh, Frank –
