LWVGT City Council candidate forum on October 11

Hopefully all candidates will attend this League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson (LWVGT) candidate forum. The forum will be moderated by former LWVGT President Shirley Sandelands.  Members of the audience will be able to submit questions in writing.  Index cards will be made available for questions.

Watch AZPM interviews online – candidates for District 4 and 5 Pima County Supervisors

Interviewed on Arizona Public Media (AZPM, Channel 6 PBS) Metro Week yesterday were two challengers for the open seat for District 4 Pima County Supervisor, since long term Republican Supervisor Ray Carroll is retiring.  Republican Steve Christy and Green candidate Josh Riley were both interviewed.  Carroll has endorsed Christy for this seat.

Also interviewed were District 5 Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias (a Democrat who has served since Feb. 2002) and his Green Party opponent Martin Bastidas.  These interviews were conducted separately as well.

ANNOUNCE UPCOMING POLITICAL FORUMS (press release)

 

TUCSON, ARIZONA – Continuing their long tradition of informing voters, the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson and Arizona Public Media (AZPM®) announce they are partnering to produce six political forums in 2014.

All six hour-long forums will be free and open to the public, and will be held at the Proscenium Theatre at the Center for the Arts on the west campus of Pima Community College, 2202 West Anklam Road in Tucson.   Pima Community College is a co-sponsor of all six forums. Tickets will be required.

SCHEDULE OF FORUMS:

  • Wednesday, July 30 – Republican Primary Gubernatorial Forum – 6:30 p.m.
  • Monday, October 6 – Attorney General – 6:30 p.m.
  • Monday, October 6 – Arizona Corporation Commission – Approximately 7:45 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 8 – Superintendent of Public Instruction – 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 8 – Secretary of State – Approximately 7:45 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 9 – Governor – 6:30 p.m.

All six forums will be recorded by AZPM for future broadcast on the PBS 6 and World television channels, and on radio station NPR 89.1, and will be available online at azpm.org/yourvote2014.

Metro Week to air on AZPM starting June 6

Metro Week, a 30-minute, regionally focused news and public affairs television program, will debut Friday, June 6, at 8:30 p.m.on PBS 6.
