Minority Elected Officials in Southern Arizona

Someone asked me recently about who are the minority politicians in Southern Arizona. So here’s my list (which is not comprehensive, as I didn’t list Town of South Tucson nor the Native American tribes – where they are the majority), so please let me know by commenting below if I forgot anyone.

I attended the recent LWVGT  forum on September 17 at the Joel D. Valdez main library on these 2 state-wide ballot measures.  Read the League’s research information, then what the supporters and opponents are saying.

These voter guides are also available in print format at the public library branches.

Vote wisely on or before Nov. 8, 2016.  Early ballots go out on October 12.

Upcoming forums for Tucson Unified School District Governing Bd. race (updated)

7 candidates are  running for 3 seats in this race for Governing Board at Tucson Unified School District (TUSD).  3 incumbents are running for re-election: Kirstel Foster, Cam Juarez, Dr. Mark Stegeman.  Challengers are Betts Putnam-Hidalgo (ran before for a seat on this board in 2012 and 2014), Lori Riegel, Brett Rustand, Rachael Sedgwick.
