Three Ring Circus Response to SOTU Address

Have you heard the joke about how the Washington, D.C. media villagers and Beltway bloviators got together for a conclave and selected freshman Tea-Publican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida as their “savior” of the GOP? No really, this happened. You didn’t see the puff of white smoke from the chimney of the National Press Club?

Last week the far-right Tea Party darlin’ was selected the Republicans’ “savior” by Time magazine; and he was selected to deliver the GOP response to President Obama’s State of the Union addresses tonight. The Beltway media has published several glowing pieces about the GOP’s new “savior” over the past several days.

I am sure that this blasphemy comes as bit of a shock to the Christian Reconstructionists and Dominionists who are the base of “God’s Own Party,” and who want a theocracy with Jesus Chirst as their lord and savior, not the son of Cuban émigrés. It is just another example of how completely out of touch the Beltway media is with the rest of the country outside of the Beltway.

Tea Party Darlin’ Marco Rubio apparently isn’t quite the belle of the ball as the Beltway media would have you believe, or at least the half-wit son and village idiot Aqua Buddha, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), seems to believe. He has been selected by the Tea Party Express (which supported the Minnesota Loon, Michele Bachmann for president last year) to deliver the Tea Party response to President Obama’s State of the Union addresses tonight. The media does know that the Tea Party is not an actual political party, right? So why should the media surrender any air time to this narcissistic nincompoop?

No circus would be complete without the clowns, and for this we have Texas Rep.Steve Stockman to thank (or more appropriately to condemn). He has invited fringe extremist and has-been rocker Ted Nugent as his guest — you know, the wingnut who got a visit from the Secret Service after he made this veiled threat: “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year….” Stockman and Nugent plan to shoot “tweets” instead to the media during the President’s address, and sure as shittin’, the feckless media villagers are going to report whatever these two clowns have to tweet.

Nugent was invited by Rep. Stockman as his way to counteract
Democratic lawmakers welcoming victims of gun violence to the Capitol, including former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and parents of children massacred at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Stay classy, Dude.

  1. Just because the US Supreme Court says that the actions taken by Congress or any other department of the federal government are constitutional does not mean that those actions are reasonable, just, moral or even a good idea.

  2. You seem to have answered your own question. Lee is just as much a nutbag that knows (nor cares) about the Constitution…just about where Paul is. These guys are SO far right that most other Republicans don’t even agree with them! Let’s just be honest here. He is solely a states rights guy and NOTHING the Constitution says would appease him. He thinks SS and Medicare are unconstitutional, national child labor laws,as well as the ACA that the Supreme Ct ruled on. This guy has no business even being anywhere NEAR a body of govt that he obviously despises. So whether his reasons were like Lee’s….Rand Paul is in the same pack of lunatics, and in no way “reasonable”.
Lee also voted against an amendment to the VAWA that opposed human trafficking. In other words, slavery is just fine with him….which makes complete sense that he’s a states rights, above all else, kind of guy. They all have no business being where they are.

  3. He voted against the VAWA today. That is NOT the vote of a “reasonable” man.

  4. Hardly anything out of his mouth sounds reasonable…but tonight, compared to the Water Boy…???

  5. I caught most of Rand Paul’s presentation. It sounded pretty reasonable. Your mileage may vary.
