As I posted the other day, SCOTUS Watch: the ‘Big 6′ will be announced on Thursday, Friday and Monday (Updated). There is no way to predict which opinions will be announced on which day, or what combination of opinions will be announced on each day.
So this event notice below depends on when the Court announces its opinion in the same-sex marriage appeals.
In the coming days the United Sates Supreme Court will announce their decision on marriage Equality. It will either make discrimination against same sex couples wishing to marry illegal nationwide — or allow LGBTI Americans to be legally classified second class citizens.
Either way, ON THE NIGHT OF THE DECISION…
Take to the streets and celebrate (or protest) the history-making US Supreme Court decision on Marriage Equality!
As the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprisings of 1969 are commemorated with pride events around the world this week and as America awaits the most momentous legal decision in LGBTI history, let’s get the word out that we here in Tucson plan to be a part of that history!
ENGAGE is a celebration! A Celebration of our communities long journey to equality, a celebration of our right to love and have our relationships recognized without prejudice by our government. We’re shutting down Scott Street from Pennington to Broadway with lights and color and sound and music — with a stage, a DJ and dancing, food trucks and a party inside JunXion Nightclub!

So whether we win or lose, spread the word to everyone you know NOW that we will be gathering at the intersection of Scott and Congress in Downtown Tucson on the night the Supreme Court announces their decision (expected to be this Thursday or next Monday).

Thx for posting updates on Marriage Equality. The LGBTQ community appreciates liberal writers echoing our own messaging rather than repeating the chosen words of our opponents on issues. It will be a lively 2016 session with social extremists working to undermine the gains made by our community no matter the decision… and then there’s the election.
