Problems contacting BlogForArizona? Do This!

By Michael Bryan

We just installed a new SSL certificate, which provides our readers with better security when logging on to BlogForArizona. Unfortunately, it also means that you may have to clear your cache in order to get on the site if you have been visiting us before the update.

In most browsers this is an option in your preferences. Simply go to the application, File, or View menu (it varies by browser) and choose preferences. Look for the option to “clear your browser cache”. This may be in the security tab, or may be under advanced settings. This will clear out saved pages and allow you to get back into the site. Some browsers allow you  to clear the cache of a particular site and they are listed alphabetically; in which case you need only clear the cache for BlogForArizona.

Sorry about any frustration or inconvenience this causes you. Please know that we made this update to protect our readers from malware and snooping eyes, and to ensure that you can continue to find our blog through Google and other major search engines, who are soon requiring all sites to have valid SSL certs to list our pages in their results.

Can we officially call it a constitutional crisis now? (Updated)

Donald Trump “went there” this morning on the Special Counsel’s Russia probe.

Trump is, once again, setting up Confederate Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III to be the fall guy by signaling he is now ready to pull a Nixonian “Saturday night massacre” if the Attorney General does not do as he is directed by the president, a clear violation of the independence of the Department of Justice from undue influence over criminal investigations by the chief executive. With Robert Mueller closing in, Trump is in a panic and is abusing the powers of the presidency to obstruct justice in order to protect himself.

Chris Cillizza at CNN reports, Donald Trump just tweeted something new about the Russia investigation — and it’s huge:

President Donald Trump has made his displeasure with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, special counsel Robert Mueller and the ongoing investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election he is leading crystal clear over the past year. But he took that critique to new heights on Wednesday morning, suggesting that Sessions needed to step in and end the investigation.

That seems like a pretty clear directive, no?

Donkey Feed, August 1, 2018

By Michael Bryan

Here is this week’s first installment of the Donkey Feed. You can see we have an amusing new logo. This week I also added a selection of three books I’m currently reading and would recommend to anyone interested in the sort of stuff I am.

I still don’t have a good qualitative read on how this feature is landing with readers. I can see that people are reading it, but I still have very thin information on how you are using it, if it’s helpful to you, if you have ideas about it that I should hear. So please, leave me a comment if you read this and let me know about your experience and suggestions so that I can make it useful as possible.

We are still in fundraising mode, so if you haven’t yet, and you like this feature, please consider a small (or large) donation.

So put your browser in reading mode, grab a cold drink, put on your specs, ’cause this is the Donkey feed…

Career Prosecutor Roberta Miller wants to be a Non Partisan Clerk of the Maricopa County Superior Court System

Democratic Candidate for Maricopa County Superior Court Clerk, Career Prosecutor Roberta Miller

Over light refreshments at the Legislative District 18 office on Guadalupe and Rural, career Prosecutor Roberta Miller relayed why she believes she is the best candidate to serve as the Clerk of the Maricopa County Superior Court System.

There are 15 (if you include the law libraries) sites for the Maricopa County Superior Court System in Maricopa. The primary purpose of the Clerk of the Court and their 600 person staff is to gather, maintain, and preserve all the records of all the actions conducted by all the courts within the Superior Court System. They are also the specialists that process and record passport applications, marriage licenses, court proceedings, and the online data system. It is a nonpartisan office with no political agenda to promote.

The current Clerk of the Maricopa County Superior Court System is Chris DeRose, an appointee that Miller feels may use his position as a political stepping stone to higher office. She believes that the office of clerk and the staff that serves the clerk and the courts should be above reproach, dedicated to serving the people and not serving their own political ambitions.

The ‘Deplorables’ take a turn to the truly disturbing and dangerous

For Star Trek fans, “Q” is a recurring character portrayed by John de Lancie in the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager series. The name “Q” applies to the names of the individuals portrayed (all “male” and “female” characters refer to each other as “Q”), it also applies to the name of their race and to the Q Continuum itself – an alternate dimension accessible to only the Q and their “invited” guests.

This is not about this “Q.”

This is about the dark web racist conspiracy theorists of the alt-right and the Christian Nationalists and Dominionists who collectively generate the “QAnon” conspiracy theory in the dark recesses of the Internet.

They are also worshipers in the personality cult of Donald Trump. These are some truly disturbed individuals who are now openly showing up at Trump rallies. These disturbed individuals will make you long for the run of the mill racist Deplorables from 2016. These disturbing individuals are dangerous.

The Washington Post reports, ‘We are Q’: A deranged conspiracy cult leaps from the Internet to the crowd at Trump’s ‘MAGA’ tour:

On Tuesday evening, the dark recesses of the Internet lit up with talk of politics.

“Tampa rally, live coverage,” wrote “Dan,” posting a link to President Trump’s Tampa speech in a thread on 8chan, an anonymous image board also known as Infinitechan or Infinitychan, which might be best described as the unglued twin of better-known 4chan, a message board already untethered from reality.

The thread invited “requests to Q,” an anonymous user claiming to be a government agent with top security clearance, waging war against the so-called deep state in service to the 45th president. “Q” feeds disciples, or “bakers,” scraps of intelligence, or “bread crumbs,” that they scramble to bake into an understanding of the “storm” — the community’s term, drawn from Trump’s cryptic reference last year to “the calm before the storm” — for the president’s final conquest over elites, globalists and deep-state saboteurs.
