“Join us in honoring our past interns with our keynote speaker Kelly Ward!
Kelly Ward is the newly appointed Interim Executive Director of President Obama’s National Democratic Redis- tricting Committee and the Former Execu- tive Director at the Democratic Congressio- nal Campaign Committee (DCCC). After 2010, Republicans gerrymandered district lines so they control Congress even when
Democrats get the most votes. It has been a rigged system. Now it’s time to fight back. The National Democratic Redistricting Committee is a newly formed organization of Democratic leaders enacting a comprehen- sive, multi-cycle Democratic Party redistricting strategy over the next five years and beyond.
Before this important position, Kelly served at the DCCC for six years, first as Political Director and then Executive Director. A skilled campaigner, Kelly Ward has an array of experience running political and advocacy cam- paigns. Kelly ran Congressman Harry Mitchell’s first congressional cam- paign in Arizona’s fifth district, defeating a 12-year incumbent. She also worked for Governor Janet Napolitano in the Arizona Governor’s Office.
Most important to our events, Kelly was also a founding member and our very first intern at Arizona List. We are excited to have her talk about how to win back Congress in 2018 and most critically, win the redistricting battle for the whole nation in 2020.”
