The AZ Daily Star Editorial board has been conducting General Election candidate interviews since Sept 8, virtually.

Coming up on Sept. 29, 4 to 5:30 p.m. will be their chat with six TUSD candidates for 3 open seats on the Governing Board.  Not sure which candidates will be participating, but all were invited. Questions will be by students only.

Who’s running: Dr. Ravi Grivois-Shah, Natalie Luna Rose, Nick Pierson, Adam Ragan, Sadie Shaw, Cindy Winston. Ragan ran for a TUSD Board seat in Nov. 2018 (came in 3rd in 5 way race for 2 seats), and Pierson ran as a Republican against CD 3 Congressman Raul Grijalva in Nov. 2018.

They have interviewed Legislative candidates in LD 2, LD 9, LD 10, LD 11 as well as Pima County and their Board of Supervisor candidates, District 1 to 5.  Also included are interviews with the statewide Az Corporation Commission and some Congressional candidates in CD 1, CD 2, CD 3. And just recently, the candidates for PCC Governing Board, District 1.

If you want to participate, you need to send an email to Sarah Garrecht Gassen at sgassen@tucson.org and specify the interview you wish to sit on in. You will be sent the zoom link and you can post questions on the chat function of that zoom link during the interview.

Based on these interviews, the Star will be issuing endorsements for the General Election races, hopefully before early ballots go out on October 7, 2020.

Vote wisely on or before Nov. 3, 2020.
