Chair of Arizona Democratic Veteran’s Caucus & Treasurer of PCDP at DGT


    Two speakers today:  Robert Kull, and Aaron Rottenstein

    Robert Kull, Chair of the AZ Democratic Veteran’s Caucus will be speaking.

    “Rob Kull is the Chair of The Arizona Democratic Veterans Caucus and a PC in LD9, Precinct 85. He recently graduated from the University of Arizona, where he used his with a BS in Public Administration. Currently, he works for Ward 2 Councilman Paul Cunningham. He served 4 1/2 years in the US Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic on F/A-18F Super Hornets in Strike Fighter Squadron VFA-32.

    Rob was deployed twice aboard the USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75). Prior to his service in the Navy, Rob attended Eastern Michigan University, where he was elected Student Body Vice-President. Rob is married to Jessica Richardson-Kull a teacher in the Sunnyside School District.”

    2nd speaker:
    Aaron Rottenstein is a financial advisor based in Tucson, AZ and currently serves as the Treasurer of the Pima County Democratic Party. Aaron has served in several key roles for members of both the US House and Senate, including as an aide for current Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
    A naive Tucsonan, Aaron earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona, and in 2015, Aaron was named as one of Southern Arizona’s 40 under 40. Active in Tucson’s nonprofit community, Aaron serves on the board of the Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona and as a board member and the Treasurer of Social Venture Partners Tucson. Aaron married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Bowers, and together they have two children – their toddler son Ezra and their newborn daughter Alice.
    Aaron will be speaking with us about the financial status of the Pima County Democratic Party.

    Carolyn Sugiyama Classen, a life long Democrat, was born & raised in the State of Hawaii, was a Legislative Aide for U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye on Capitol Hill, and practiced law for a while. In Tucson she worked as a tribal staff attorney for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and later was the Interim Executive Director of the now defunct Domestic Violence Commission. In 2008 she became a “My Tucson” guest columnist for the Tucson Citizen newspaper, then continued blogging for for over four and a half years. Her blogsite was entitled “Carolyn’s Community” about community events and some political news, until Gannett Publishing shut down the site on January 31, 2014. She started with Blog for Arizona on Feb. 11, 2014. Part time she has been sitting as a Hearing Officer in Pima County Consolidated Justice Courts Small Claims Division since April, 2005. She is married to University of Arizona Distinguished Professor Albrecht Classen, a native of Germany. They have one son, who lives in Seattle, WA with his wife and daughter. She is also the Editor of the Southern Arizona Japanese Cultural Coalition website, (since Jan. 2013).
