Join social and environmental activists, curious Tucsonans looking to make connections with other members of their community and others frustrated by the current political climate who are looking for ways to get involved and make a difference. Find out about the many organizations that are fighting for social and environmental justice, equality and liberal progressive causes that are seeking volunteers. Enjoy beer, snacks, music and camaraderie in the lovely lobby and courtyard of The Historic Y.
Similar to our first Fair on Presidents’ Day 2017, participating organizations will be both social and political, with an emphasis on fighting for equality and social justice and protecting the environment and vulnerable populations and causes. At least 22 organizations have confirmed so far – including Coalición de Derechos Humanos, Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection, Community Food Bank, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, OFA – Organizing for Action, Sierra Club – Rincon Group, Sky Island Alliance, Sustainable Tucson, Tucson Audubon Society, Tucson Citizenship Campaign, Tucson NOW (Organization for Women) and YWCA Southern Arizona. Last year there were a total of 65 organizations represented. We expect the same this year.
If you haven’t done so already and wish for your organization to participate, and/or wish to help in the planning or give feedback about last year’s event, please register at https://
Following the Fair, there will be additional social time to encourage introductions, collaboration and idea exchange. And at 7, there will be a staged reading of Monica Bauer’s political play, “The Real Machiavelli” in the Scoundrel and Scamp Theater, free and open to all.”
