At a cost of $71, million, the RTA and Pima County want to march ahead with a plan to widen Broadway Blvd from Euclid to Country Club to at least 6 lanes, based upon outdated growth projections.
Ever since Tucson City Councilman Steve Kozachik suggested scaling the project back to a more logical scope two years ago, the Broadway Coalition– group of concerned residents– has been meeting and working on plans for more sustainable growth and development along Broadway. A recent public meeting drew nearly 300 attendees.
