“Benny White is perhaps best known ot DGT members and supporters for pushing back on election deniers in his own party in recent years with his expert analyses of Arizona’s cast vote records. Benny is an elections lawyer with many years of in-depth, first-hand experience designing and implementing elections systems with the Pima County Election Integrity Commission, the Pima County Election Accuracy and Certification Board, and the Arizona Election Procedures Manual Revision Committee. In 2020, Benny ran against Gabriella Cázares-Kelly for Pima County Recorder as the Republican nominee, and, in 2021, published the website https://real-audits.org/, refuting elections deniers. Benny and his team’s work was cited extensively in Maricopa County Recorder (Stephen) Richer’s open letter in refutation of the Cyber Ninja’s #AZFraudit in 2021:
…Trump’s loss was built on disaffected Republican voters. …the high-level explanation is straightforward. Using the cast vote record, elections experts Benny White, Larry Moore, and Tim Halvorsen have shown that 59,800 voters in Maricopa County cast a ballot for a majority of the Republicans on the ballot, but did not vote for Trump. Of those, 39,102 voted for Biden. That number far outstripped the number of majority-Democrat voters who abandoned Biden.
It’s unusual for Democrats of Greater Tucson to have a featured speaker who is a registered and committed Republican, but we are determined to platform people of goodwill who bring common sense, actual expertise, and data analysis to the task of refuting and rejecting the false claims of MAGA election deniers, regardless of party affiliation. We proudly present Benny as an exemplar of a Republican standing firm against Trump’s Big Lie and the many lies, conspiracy theories, and propaganda it has spawned here in Arizona.”

Carolyn’s note: Democrat Gabriella Cazares-Kelly defeated Republican Benny White for Pima County Recorder in Nov. 2020, 58.74% to 41.26%. Both were political newcomers. Democratic Recorder F. Ann Rodriguez had retired after 7 terms in office (1992 to 2020).
