  1. Candidates present tonight: Ward 3 Independent Gary Watson, Ward 6 Green candidate Mike Cease and Democrat incumbent Steve Kozachik. Welcome by Changemaker HS officials, then introductions by the 3 candidates, followed by questions prepared by the students: Define equity and relate individual & campaign story; how help people in cycle of misdemeanor crimes which affect poor & people of color; define homelessness & how provide adequate housing for low/moderate income people; should local law enforcement aid ICE arrests; do you support DACA funding; what is role of City of Tucson in improving schools; how assist in mobility & pedestrian infrastructure. Then questions from the audience were how handle fines/fees in criminal justice system (unclear question); how hold Pima County responsible for detention of undocumented immigrants; support for Office for legal defense of noncitizens; why vote for the Green Party; support for Strong Start Tucson Prop. 204; would you encourage planting of more trees & vegetation mgmt. across City? About 60 people in attendance at this forum, including former PCC Bd. member Georgia Brousseau.
