Harrison, who served as a division director in the clerk’s office for 30 years, beat out Toni Hellon’s reelection bid for the Clerk of the Superior Court for Pima County.
“I’ve always been a confident person,” Gary Harrison said at the Pima County Democratic Party election night party. “But it was everyone here that made me able to do this.”
Register in advance for this meeting:
Carolyn’s note: Political newcomer Democrat Gary Harrison upset incumbent Clerk of the Superior Court Republican Toni Hellon, 56.09% to 43.8% in Nov. 2018. Former State Senator Hellon had served since elected in Nov. 2014, appointed to that Clerk position in 2013. Hellon’s ex-husband Mike Hellon (R) ran for Pima County Supervisor District 1 in August 2012 primary (came in 2nd in 4 way race).
