“Public education in Arizona is experiencing many challenges including low funding, voucher expansion, teacher shortages, and more. Colonel Linda Lyon will discuss the current state of Arizona schools and the outlook for the future.

Colonel Lyon is past president of the Arizona School Boards Association and is currently the Board President of the Oracle School District Governing Board of which she has been a member for eleven years.

Colonel Lyon retired from the Air Force in 2007 and moved to Tucson in 2008. Since her arrival in Tucson, she has managed a non-profit, supported a variety of charities including the founding of the Oracle Schools Foundation, and worked on multiple political campaigns.
