PCDP precinct committeepersons reorganization meeting to elect officers


    Pima County Democratic Party will to having a meeting for all precinct committeepersons to elect officers.

    Saturday, December 15, 10:00 a.m.:  Pima County Democratic Party Reorganization meeting, UA ENR2 (Environment & Natural Resources) building, 1064 E. Lowell St.  (room N 120 on first floor, north side),  Tucson. Only PCs elected in the August primary may participate; no proxies are allowed. Registration is 9:30-10:00 a.m., Meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. For more information please call PCDP HQ (520) 326-3716.

    Dr. Jo Holt ran unsuccessfully for State Senate in LD 11 twice (2012, 2014). Alison Jones was considering a bid for CD 2 House in the Aug. 2018 Democratic primary.


    The PCDP Chair  winner will speak at Democrats of  Greater Tucson on Monday, Dec. 17.


    “On Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 10:00 AM, the biennial reorganization meeting of the Pima County Democratic Party will be held in room N120 of the ENR2 Building at the University of Arizona main campus. ENR2 is at 1064 E. Lowell St. The Sixth Street Garage is directly east of ENR2 at 1119 E. 6th St. SunTran Route 3 stops at 6th and Fremont. ENR2 is a 0.4 miles / 0.64 km walk from the University and Tyndall streetcar stop. You must be credentialed or in line by 10:00 AM to vote.

    Carolyn Sugiyama Classen, a life long Democrat, was born & raised in the State of Hawaii, was a Legislative Aide for U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye on Capitol Hill, and practiced law for a while. In Tucson she worked as a tribal staff attorney for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and later was the Interim Executive Director of the now defunct Domestic Violence Commission. In 2008 she became a “My Tucson” guest columnist for the Tucson Citizen newspaper, then continued blogging for Tucsoncitizen.com for over four and a half years. Her blogsite was entitled “Carolyn’s Community” about community events and some political news, until Gannett Publishing shut down the site on January 31, 2014. She started with Blog for Arizona on Feb. 11, 2014. Part time she has been sitting as a Hearing Officer in Pima County Consolidated Justice Courts Small Claims Division since April, 2005. She is married to University of Arizona Distinguished Professor Albrecht Classen, a native of Germany. They have one son, who lives in Seattle, WA with his wife and daughter. She is also the Editor of the Southern Arizona Japanese Cultural Coalition website, www.southernazjapan.org (since Jan. 2013).
