Public Hearing on City of Tucson Budget: Tues. May 6 @ 5.30 PM
May 6 is the last Mayor & Council meeting before the final budget vote on May 20th.
The Tucson Pima Arts Council (TPAC) is indebted to everyone who emailed, wrote letters, called and showed up on behalf of City funding for the arts.
Initially, the City Manager wanted to cut funding for TPAC down to $100,000– down from more than $800,000 in 2007. While the City Manager had modified his proposed reduction in arts funding from $350k to $50k, nothing is written in stone until the final budget vote. We are therefore asking everyone who can to show up at tomorrow’s meeting and to speak out for the arts. Mayor & Council meetings take place at City Hall (255 W Alameda) and start at 5.30 p.m.
