Ralph Atchue is running again for State Senate in LD 11. He lost to current Republican Senator Steve Smith in Nov. 2016. Also running again for LD 11 House is Hollace (Holly) Lyon, who lost in Nov. 2014 to current Republican Representatives Mark Finchem and Vince Leach.
Hollace is also the wife of our Blog for Arizona blogger Linda Lyon.
“Ralph Atchue is our Democratic candidate for the State Senate in Legislative District 11. Ralph and his wife Pat moved to Arizona in 2005. He was born and raised in a Chicago blue collar neighborhood, and is a product of public education.
Ralph had a 33-year career with the United States Postal Service. He started out as a letter carrier, and served as a local president with the National Association of Letter Carriers, and then retired as a Postmaster.
His experience of negotiating labor agreements representing the union, and then management, has given him a unique perspective on both sides of issues that face workers and businesses today.
Ralph is an Air Force veteran and a seasoned campaigner, having worked in many Arizona political campaigns, for Ann Kirkpatrick, for Tom O’Halleran, and including his state senate run in 2016. Ralph is distinctly aware of the issues facing Arizona’s middle-class families and small business community and will work to rebuild the middle class
