TEP’s Renewal Energy Program update was provided by Justin Orkney, Tech. Specialist II for their 2015 program to be offered to 600 home owners to install a system with a fixed tariff rate based on their previous 12 month usage. Average residential usage is about 11,000 KW/year. Kevin Koch was enthusiastic over the new program, as another option to homeowners; Catherine Kent said we all need to reduce our energy use, that not all homes were meant for solar panels; and Bruce Plenk offered visions for a solar future, with buildings/new developments being net zero for energy usage, maybe even a plug in solar home system someday. About 25 persons attended this informative meeting.
