RTC-clock626-sig-sm72Greetings, members and supporters of Tucson Bus Riders Union!

We have taken the liberty of also sending this announcement to the
friends and supporters of Casa Maria — anyone on the Casa Maria list
who does NOT wish to receive further TBRU announcements can reply with
‘unsubscribe’ in the subject line and we will remove your email
address promptly, no questions asked and no hard feelings.

For the rest of you, that meeting is TODAY (Wed 12th) at 5:30PM at
Armory Park Community Center, 220 South Fifth Ave (at 12th Street).
Membership cards, tee shirts, food, speakers, the whole ball o’ wax —
come on down and share your thoughts!

And also, if you have not yet read it, there’s an article in the
_Star_ about increased transit usage that’s worth a peruse —
    http://azstarnet.com/news/national/americans-riding-public-transit-in-record-numbers/article_bd0a80de-8e5d-588e-94ae-27e154ae6f64.html?print=true&cid=print

Nearly 10.7 billion trips in 2013, to be precise — the highest total
since 1956, according to ridership data reported by transit systems
nationally and released Monday by the American Public Transportation
Association. [ … ] “People are making a fundamental shift to having
options” aside from a car in how they get around, said Michael
Melaniphy, president and CEO of the public transportation association.
“This is a long-term trend. This isn’t just a blip.”

The Blue Meanie is an Arizona citizen who wishes, for professional reasons, to remain anonymous when blogging about politics. Armed with a deep knowledge of the law, politics and public policy, as well as pen filled with all the colors stolen from Pepperland, the Blue Meanie’s mission is to pursue and prosecute the hypocrites, liars, and fools of politics and the media – which, in practical terms, is nearly all of them. Don’t even try to unmask him or he’ll seal you in a music-proof bubble and rendition you to Pepperland for a good face-stomping.
