Candidates with Primary Election challengers for upcoming City of Tucson elections, which includes three Mayoral Candidates and four Ward One Candidates, will participate in a forum sponsored by neighborhood and community organizations. The event will take place on:

Seeking the office of Mayor are 3 Democrats: Randi Dorman, Steve Farley & Regina Romero. Dorman is a political newcomer/developer; Farley is the former LD 9 State Senator (served in the legislature for 12 years); Romero is the Ward 1 Councilmember for 3 terms.
Seeking the Ward 1 Council seat are 4 Democrats:
Rob Elias, businessman/former professional baseball player (no relation to District 5 Supervisor Richard Elias)
Sami Hamed, former CD 3 Congressional aide to Congressman Raul Grijalva
Miguel Ortega, former Chief of Staff to Ward 3 Councilmember Karin Uhlich
Dr. Lane Santa Cruz, former Senior Council aide in Ward 1
The Democratic Primary is slated for August 27, 2019. No Greens are running for Mayor or Ward 1 Council but there is a write-in Republican candidate for Ward 1, Sam Nagy. The winner of the Democrat Mayoral primary will face off with Independent Ed Ackerley.
