    1. Overflow crowd today to hear 3 term CD 9 Rep. Sinema speak, about this upcoming “energized” election, a “must-win U.S. Senate seat”, the economy & jobs, veterans, health care. She said that public education was the key to her success from homelessness & poverty to US Congress, and now a run for U.S. Senate in AZ. She served 7 years in AZ House & Senate and said that her success was walking the districts 3 x, truly grass roots campaigning. She also emphasized working across the aisles with Republicans, being independent in her votes. Questions from audience were about which bills re: gun control did she support; how fix education funding/Prop. 123; support for DACA recipients for full citizenship; support ICE re: immigrant detention; regret any votes which were disappointment to Dem voters; position on climate change/the environment; support balanced budget amendment; will she be accessible to constituents; sign on to Operation Habooob’s People Agenda of YWCA; influence to save public education/teachers leaving state; support for resolution in favor of Citizen’s Climate Lobby; how assist coordinated campaign of AZ Dem party; and position on trade war. Attending today: candidates JP Martin for LD 9 House, atty. Yahya Yuksel for CD 2; Mark Manoil for State Treasurer, Alma Hernandez for LD 3 House.
