DESCRIPTION:by Carolyn Classen\, blogger \n\n\n\n“Inspiring Generations of Democratic Leaders \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday\, October 24\, 2025\, from 5 pm to 7 pm\, at  \n\n\n\n►314 E Congress St.\, Tucson\, AZ 85701◄ \n\n\n\nJoin Democrats of Greater Tucson at the exclusive Don Martin-i Club to discover Inspiring Generations of Democratic Leaders\, and meet fellow Dems. \n\n\n\nFormer Mayor Jonathan Rothschild\, age 70\, will lead a discussion on how seniors can attract and mentor new Millennial and Gen Z voters – who are now 43% of the US population and 48.5% of voters. \n\n\n\nJonathan founded the Civic and Political Leadership Academy in 2019 to provide a nonpartisan\, intensive experience that empowers individuals to train students and young professionals to become effective civic leaders.  \n\n\n\nOur GenZ panelists are: \n\n\n\n► Rahel Hehn\, age 21\, President of the University of Arizona College Democrats. She is also the President of UA Aspiring Black Lawyers.” \n\n\n\n►Jake Martin\, age 21\, is the DGT Secretary and Deputy Administrator of the Pima County Treasurer. At age 19\, he founded the Survivor Shield Foundation\, which provides financial support for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. \n\n\n\n►Maria Parsons\, age 25\, is an at-large member of the DGT Board\, starting her second term. In 2024\, she worked as Regional Organizing Director at the Arizona Democratic Party. Maria is a former Corresponding Secretary for the Pima County Democratic Party. \n\n\n\n►Tre’ Davon Rhodes\, age 19\, is an at-large member of the DGT Board. Tre is a freshman at the University of Arizona\, an intern with Tucson Councilman Paul Cunningham and is an after-school teacher at La Paloma Academy’s central campus. Tre is also a member of the African American Democratic Caucus of Tucson. \n\n\n\n►Chris Cosico\, age 26\, is an at-large member of the DGT Board. He is the Campaign Manager for Rural Arizona Action. Prior to his candidacy\, Nick served as Chairman and CEO of the Arizona College of Nursing\, transforming the institution from a single campus into a national leader with 24 campuses across 14 states. \n\n\n\nRaised by a nurse and a doctor\, Nick learned early the value of hard work\, service to others\, and the power of education. Nick attended Salpointe Catholic High School\, and after earning degrees in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from Stanford University\, he built a career as an entrepreneur that has spanned finance\, life safety services\, and education\, all while having a positive community impact. \n\n\n\nNick and his wife\, Annemarie\, a preschool director\, have been married almost twenty-seven years and live in Phoenix. They have four adult children who keep Nick grounded.” \n\n\n\nCarolyn’s note: the Az Treasurer’s seat will be open in 2026\, as current Republican Treasurer Kimberly Yee has announced a challenge to Incumbent Republican Tom Horne for Az School Superintendent of Public Instruction. Elijah Norton\, former treasurer of the Arizona Republican Party and primary candidate for CD 1 in 2022 has announced for Treasurer. He got 33% in August 2022 against incumbent Congressman David Schweikert (43.57%).
