Free “Dark Money” film screening & panel discussion

Sunday January 27, 1:30 to 4 p.m
Summit Ridge Community Church, 505 W. Hardy Rd. Tucson

“Watch Tucson’s first free screening of “Dark Money”, an award-winning documentary by Kimberly Reed exposing political corruption in Montana. Free childcare from 1:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., too. The film draws parallels between the local influence of dark money in Montana and the effects of corporate political spending on a national scale. We see the two parties chasing money instead of solving problems. Summit Ridge Community Church (SRCC) and Tucson’s Represent.Us chapter host this screening in collaboration with the award-winning documentary series POV (www.pbs.org/pov).

Then stay for Tucson’s first “Dark Money” after screening Q&A panel discussion including . . .

Terry Goddard, Mayor of Phoenix from 1984 to 1990, Central Arizona Water Conservation District from 2001 to 2003 and 24th Attorney General of Arizona from 2003 to 2011.

David Eppihimer, Chairman of the Pima County Republican Party, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville in Political Science, moved to Tucson in 1989.

Chris Weber, PhD. Associate Professor and Director of Doctoral Studies at the University of Arizona School of Government and Public Policy. Much of Dr. Weber’s work focuses on how political attitudes and behavior intersect with identity and psychological characteristics. 1. Went to a LUCHA (Living United for Change in Arizona) workshop on mass incarceration yesterday and this dark money influence on Republican Gov. Doug Ducey’s campaigns were mentioned. Today’s event is bi-partisan, so check it out and see this movie for free.
