July 2015 schedule of Cinema La Placita

From Erika O’Dowd, founder of Cinema La Placita:

“In June, voters on Facebook and downtown at the movies have voted between two possible schedules for July, and the results are in!”

The July 2015 schedule is as follows:

July 2 Private Benjamin (1980) Starring Goldie Hawn, Eileen Brennan and Armand Asante. (was previously scheduled on June 4th, but rained out)

La Placita Village is located at the southwest corner of Broadway and Church Avenue in downtown Tucson (100 S. Under most circumstances, we wait until 7pm to decide whether or not to

cancel the movie. If you are a Twitter-er, you can follow CinemaLaPlacita

on Twitter, and receive an update. You can also call the hotline at

326-5282 to hear a recorded message. The message will be updated at 7pm,

so call just after then.

    • Hmmm… I haven’t been planning on showing “The Battle of Algeirs”. It looks like a very interesting film, although we stay away from foreign language films that require reading subtitles (there is often too much ambient light for them to be reliably legible).

There is a place to make movie suggestions on the website, http://www.cinemalaplacita.com. Please bear in mind that not all suggestions can be shown, owing to licensing availability, cost, and other factors.

      • thanks for responding Erika. I can understand the problem with foreign language films & subtitles. And I appreciate the link to where our readers can make movie suggestions.
