These vigils are sponsored by Arizonans for Gun Safety, in conjunction with the National Vigil.

Carolyn’s note: In light of the recent mass shootings in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Savannah, Georgia; and San Bernardino, California — these might be vigils to attend, also in memory of those lost in the Tucson Tragedy of January 8, 2011, where 6 died and 13 were wounded by a gunman, including then CD 8 Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

  1. Perhaps, Arizona and other states, should require gun owners to have liability insurance for the protection of those who accidentally get killed or wounded or maimed by the gun owners’ weapons. You must have a registered gun to get insurance and without that insurance, prior to delivery of the weapon, no weapon will be issued. Same as a car.

  2. A more effective way to help end gun violence is putting anyone who commits a crime with gun in prison for 10 years. something tells me my fellow bloggers would rather light a candle since the democratic party’s job is to get young black men out of jail not put more in jail so we have to light candles and support strict gun control that doesn’t put more young black men in jail.
