New route for Spring Cyclovia 2019

It’s time for the popular Cyclovia Tucson — car free activity from 9 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 7 — along a new route in Tucson (see map below). The route goes from Banner-UMC to the Warehouse Arts District, via 4th Avenue and Feldman’s Neighborhood.

More info at https://www.cycloviatucson.org/. So get out your bikes, trikes, skates, skate boards, scooters, hiking sticks, walking shoes, wagons, wheelchairs, etc. and enjoy Spring in Tucson, without cars/trucks.

  1. Today’s the day for Spring Cyclovia. Enjoy poetry too at the UA Poetry Center’s hub. We’re getting out our bikes & bike helmets and cruising the new route. Enjoy Spring in Tucson.

UPDATE: Spent the morning along the east end of this new route, got printed a free tshirt for our granddaughter at UA Poetry Center, entered a few poetry contests, then west to Euclid where I got a flat tire (due to bad glass on the route at Helen/Euclid. Fortunately a BICAS booth was nearby so I got a new tire installed, then rode back to the glass area & handpicked out the glass from the street. Back to UA Poetry Center only to discover that I had lost my padlock along the way somewhere, but fortunately had gotten a free lock at the UMC hub earlier. You can take a tour of lobby/1st floor of the new Banner UMC Tower building. Free smoothie sample upstairs and quite a view thru all those glass windows. Enjoy the rest of Cyclovia & perhaps the Fall one too, scheduled for Oct. 27, 9 to 3 p.m.

P.S. Amazingly enough my husband and I happened to drive by on Helen St. west of Euclid, after Cyclovia was done, and he found my lock on the curbside. Some Good Samaritan must have found it and figured we might come back for it, once I discovered it was missing. Thanks for the good folks of Cyclovia, who directed me to BICAS to fix my flat and the volunteer who did it, and to the person who left my lock on the curbside. Tucson has a good bike community.
