Celebrate Tucson’s 240th Birthday

Thursday, August 20, 6:00 p.m.: Tucson’s Birthday Celebration, at Presidio San Agustín del Tucson courtyard, 133 W. Washington St., Tucson, AZ. The Tucson Presidio was founded on August 20, 1775. The five flags that have flown over Tucson — American, Spanish, Mexican, Confederate, and the State of Arizona — will be presented in a ceremony at Presidio San Agustín del Tucson courtyard to celebrate Tucson’s 240th birthday. There also will be birthday cake and refreshments, cannon fire and living history demonstrations. Members from a wide variety of groups who make up the cultural fabric of Tucson will be in attendance along with elected officials and dignitaries. Admission is Free.
