Celebrate Tucson’s 241st Birthday
Saturday, August 20, [Time TBA]: Tucson’s Birthday Celebration, at Presidio San Agustín del Tucson courtyard, 133 W. Washington St., Tucson, AZ. The Tucson Presidio was founded on August 20, 1775. The five flags that have flown over Tucson — American, Spanish, Mexican, Confederate, and the State of Arizona — will be presented in a ceremony at Presidio San Agustín del Tucson courtyard to celebrate Tucson’s 240th birthday. Saturday, October 1, 11:00 a.m.: Flagstaff Oktoberfest at Wheeler Park from 11 AM to 8 PM. The event supports the Flagstaff Sunrise Lions Club. Live polka music, German beer, and free root beer floats for kids in the root beer garden. Contests for yodeling, costume, brat eating and beer hoisting.
Saturday, October 1, 3:00 p.m.: SanTan Oktoberfest. The ninth annual Oktoberfest for San Tan Brewing and Downtown Chandler. at 3 South San Marcos Place, Chandler. This event typically includes stein races, keg rolling, tricycle races, keg contest, bratwurst eating contests and a beer pong tournament. $12 admission (kids 12 and under are free). Presale tickets go on sale for $10 on September 1.
