Primary Election Month – Early Voting Begins Today

votePrimary election month gets underway with early voting beginning today.

For those of you on the Permanent Early Voter List (PEVL) or who have requested an early mail ballot, and who are registered with a political party, early mail ballots will automatically be be mailed to you beginning today, Wednesday, August 3.

If you are a “no party preference” or so-called independent voter,  you need to contact your county recorder’s office to request an early ballot for the party of your choice to receive a ballot. If you want to receive it by mail, you must make your request by August 19. Requesting an early ballot in the primary does NOT change your “no party preference” voter registration status, so chill out.

The last day to return your early ballot by mail is Thursday, August 25, to ensure that your ballot is received before the deadline of 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30.

For those of you who can’t wait to vote, you can vote early beginning today at 8:00 a.m. Your county recorder has a list of early voting sites that you can walk into and request an early ballot. You will need to show some form of required ID to vote.

Here is the list of Early Ballot Sites in Pima County.

Now do your civic duty as a citizen of this great county and go VOTE!
