Sign up for an Urban Farm Tour in Tucson

It’s less than two weeks until the Feeding Tucson Urban Farm Tour on March 5th.
“Time to sign up for this important exploration of the food Tucson currently grows and what we need to do, to have more.
During this 5-hour tour, participants will visit different sets of large and small-scale aquaponics and hydroponics systems, a long-time urban orchard, market gardens and community gardens.  The tour will end at the Mission Gardens for a locally-sourced lunch, catered by Caridad Community Kitchen, and a discussion of ‘What do we need to do to produce and eat lots more local food?’
The March 5 tour is organized by Feeding Tucson, a project of Sustainable Tucson.  It is part of our ongoing efforts to create a more sustainable and resilient community.
Tickets are available at the <FeedingTucson.org> website.  The $25 charge covers the catered meal and a contribution to Mission Garden.” (info from Tres English of Sustainable Tucson, photo below of La Oeste Gardens.)

  1. I purchased a ticket a week ago and have yet to receive any details regarding the tour. Could you please send them to my email? Thanks

    • Ok, will do Elizabeth. Will let organizer Tres English know you contacted me.

On Sustainable Tucson’s website this is what it says:

      “Sold out!

We will probably organize an Urban Farm Tour in October, in conjunction with the Envison Tucson Sustainable Festival. If you are interested in participating, please contact us at <tres@feedingtucson.org."

    • John, I’ll try to remember, but I get most of my info from Sustainable Tucson email alerts and FB.
