Free Reopening weekend at Tucson Museum of Art

“After a summer of renovation and expansion, the Tucson Museum of Art will reopen with new galleries, new feature exhibitions, and new selections from the museum’s permanent collection on view. Best of all, admission will be FREE the weekend of Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22!  (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days)

Come make art, engage with community partners, and experience more than 20 galleries of world-class art including the new feature exhibitions, Dress Matters: Clothing as Metaphor and Desert Dweller.

Saturday, October 21st
11:00 am – Performance by Stories that Soar
1:00 pm – Curator walk through with Dr. Julie Sasse, Chief Curator and Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art
3:00 pm – Ballet Folklorico Tapatio

The evening continues at the Scottish Rite Cathedral with a screening of “House of Z,” a documentary on the life and work of the design Zac Posen, courtesy of Film Fest Tucson.  (9 p.m.)

Sunday, October 22nd
11:00 am – Dance performance choreographed by Hawkins Dance
1:00 pm – Curator walk through with Christine Brindza, Glasser Curator of Art of the American West
3:00 pm – Performance by Solidarite Sympa
