Assemblage Workshop: Register now for our upcoming workshop “Thinking Inside the Box”. This fun and creative assemblage workshop helps you combine collage and found materials in a shallow drawer, box or support of your own choosing. Using papers, photos, wood supports, hardware and 3-dimensional objects you will create a visual narrative in two and three dimensions. Past participants in this workshop have explored the realms of genealogy, autobiography, surrealist / dream assemblage and have referenced people, places and significant events.
The workshop is designed for artists of all levels – beginners to experienced and employs mixed media techniques to transform found objects into striking visual metaphors. Each participant is asked to bring an assortment of intriguing found objects, a variety of art materials and some sort of box or structure to place these gathered elements. In addition, some objects / materials will be contributed to create a shared community collection for all to gather from. Gallery members John Salgado & Clay Morgan will instruct and help you develop your design and advise / assist with your assemblage.All proceeds from this workshop benefit Raices Taller 222 Art Gallery & Workshop educational & outreach programs!”Thinking Inside the Box”
