Obama: “I urge the Senate and the House to give each of them a vote.”

Obama's weekly address is about legislation to control gun violence. His message: "We have a real chance to reduce gun violence," and "we have an obligation to try."

It's a quiet message presented gently. He simply lists the gun measures and states, "I urge the Senate and the House to give each of them a vote." I wish it were louder and stronger, but that's the tone he struck.

  1. If the President doesn’t claim that the sky is going to fall if one federal law isn’t enacted perhaps the reason is that the sky isn’t going to fall if one bill doesn’t become a law.
