Update on Supreme Court ELL arguments

by David Safier
I just listened to a report about today's arguments in the Arizona ELL case in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. The interesting, but not surprising, part was the Supremes' concerns about the case.

The conservative justices were concerned with the reach of the district court micromanaging the ELL plan.

The liberal justices were concerned with the plan itself, that it doesn't fund ELL programs adequately and that it demands schools use NCLB funds for the program.

No surprises here. The question we won't know for awhile is, where is that all important fifth Justice going to land?
