2021 Primary Election Results for Tucson City Council Wards 3, 5, 6

The City of Tucson’s primary election for the City Council races in Ward 3, 5, and 6 was held today. Here are the results from the City of Tucson Elections Dept.  Voter turnout was 22.47% of the registered voters.

Ward 3 (open seat)

Kevin Dahl (D)   3746

Juan Padres (D)   2493

There is a Republican write-in candidate Alan Harwell, Jr. in this primary.   He got 232 votes (needed 134 to get on the General Election ballot).

 

Ward 5

Richard Fimbres (D), incumbent  3549

 

Ward 6

Steve Kozachik (D), incumbent    5398

Andres Portela III (D)   1438

Miranda Schubert (D)    2512

Dem winners in Ward 3 and 6 face Independent candidates in the General Election on November 2, 2021, Lucy Libosha in Ward 3, and Val Romero in Ward 6.

3 term Councilman Richard Fimbres in Ward 5 is unopposed in the Primary and General Elections.

  1. Well, I’m glad to see that Ward 6 Democrats had the good sense to elect Steve Kozachik, one of the best council members Tucson has had in recent years if not the best.
