This has been a good week for Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Katie Hobbs.
She was a featured speaker last Sunday on Meet the Press where she told moderator Chuck Todd about her journey around the state before and after her nomination, discussing the issues and describing solutions to several of Arizona’s challenges like the water crisis, fixing public education, and reducing costs.
She is also raking in endorsements from the right, center, and left ends of the political spectrum.
Jeremy Duda and Brahm Resnik noted that several leading right-of-center Republicans including current Mesa Mayor John Giles and Doug Ducey’s 2018 campaign chairperson. This is in addition to an already emerging coalition of Republicans, disenchanted with the fringe reality-denying direction of extremely dangerous Trump Republicans like Kari Lake, Mark Finchem, Abe Hamadeh, Tom Horne, and Kimberly Yee are taking the former Party of Lincoln, that earlier committed to Secretary Hobbs.
There's some notable names in the lineup for this @katiehobbs fundraiser. Sharon Harper chaired @dougducey's 2018 reelection. @MayorGiles is the Republican mayor of Mesa. @HeatherCarterAZ and @debgullett are former GOP lawmakers. And two of John McCain's sons are on the list. https://t.co/oms0fCv2m1

The 2022 Arizona Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee also received the endorsements of two major groups: The Jewish Democratic Council of America and Latinos for Katie Hobbs Coalition.
On the Jewish Democratic Council endorsement, Secretary Hobbs relayed in a campaign press release:
“Anti-Semites and bigots across the country have waged blatant attacks on our civil rights and our democracy. Now more than ever, our leaders must have the backbone (a subtle dig on opponent Lake who has not fully disavowed a known Anti-Semite running for legislative office in Oklahoma) to stand their ground against far-right extremism. Just as I stood up to death threats to protect Arizonans’ right to vote as Secretary of State, I promise to do everything in my power as governor to fight back against the infringement on fundamental human rights.”
After meeting with Latino leaders and supporters at a breakfast roundtable, the Secretary commented:
“Arizona’s Latino communities represent a deeply rooted part of our history and cultural identity. It is long past time that Arizona has a leader who will prioritize the needs of a group that makes up over a third of our state’s population. As governor, I promise to work day in, day out toward a future where all Arizonans will thrive.”
Moving forward, Gubernatorial Nominee Hobbs will take her Can’t Wait for Solutions Tour to the Navajo Nation and Flagstaff on September 10 and 11, 2022 where she will outline her agenda to improve quality education in a plan called A Prepared Arizona. She will also meet with local and tribal leaders to discuss challenging issues like the water supply crisis and reducing costs.

All that you mentioned is overshadowed by the massive negative fallout of her refusal to debate Lake. You need to get your head out of the sand. If she is too timid and weak to debate her opponent, how can she convince voters that she can lead state? Leaders do not run away. Leaders confront and prevail.
Republicans run away from debates all the time, it’s a strategy and you are well aware of this.
I would prefer a debate as well, but as I’ve said before, in this case, the only debate Lake should be having is with a psychiatrist.
“Leaders confront and prevail.”
What a disturbing and inaccurate way of understanding governing in a democracy.
Fascistic even.
Maybe you meant in sports?
I really wish you’d read the Constitution, I know for a fact that you haven’t because the court struck down your blatantly unconstitutional don’t film the cops law.
Maybe take a class!
Learn what Congress does, and then what the Senate does. Learn how the executive branch functions and how the courts work.
The founders weren’t perfect but they were pretty smart on some things.
You know who else is pretty smart? RAICESTEXAS!
That’s right, RAICES provides free or low cost legal services to immigrants.
And I think it’s time I shared my appreciation to John Kavanagh for providing the opportunity for us all to be reminded of the good work RAICES does.
Thanks John!
