Arizona Statewide and Local Democratic Nominees kicked off the campaign season for Legislative District (LD) 12, an area that includes parts of Ahwatukee, Tempe, Mesa, and Chandler.
Among the Democratic nominees that appeared were:
- Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.
- Attorney General Kris Mayes.
- Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman.
- Treasurer Martin Quezada.
- Maricopa County Attorney Julie Gunnigle.
- Central Arizona Water Conservation District Ylenia Aguilar, Alexandra Arboleda, and Benjamin Graff.
- LD 12 State Senate Mitzi Epstein.
- LD 12 State House Stacey Travers.
- Constables Bridget Bellavigna and Karyn Lathan.
- Justice of the Peace Jennifer Jermaine.
- Phoenix City Council Candidates Joan Greene, Kellen Wilson, and Mark Moeremans.
- Tempe Union High School Board Candidates Amanda Steele and Andres Barraza.
- Kyrene Elementary School Board Candidates Trine Nelson and Kevin Walsh.
- Mesa Unified School Board Candidate Jacob Martinez.
Candidate after candidate stressed that this election was a focal point for the LD, the state, and the country as the political fight for the soul of Arizona and the nation was on to save:
- Democracy.
- Civil rights including the right to choose and vote.
- The water supply.
- Public Education.
- The state’s fiscal portfolio.
