A Tucson Coffee Party?

by David Safier

It looks like some folks are trying to create a local response to the Tea Partiers. They're calling it the Coffee Party.

Here's the political events listing in Sunday's Star:

May 11. The Coffee Party of Northwest Tucson will stage a
civil demonstration at the office of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
In the wake of a smashed glass door after her health-care vote,
attendees plan to display signs that read, "Restore reason and
civility." The demonstration will run from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
Otherwise, the group holds weekly meetings at the Oro Valley Public
Library, every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
